It's Pi Day! And that is a great excuse to make a pie and carve a mathematical symbol into it!

My favourite pie right now is Raspberry Pie, and this one was made with a pre-rolled Pillsbury crust, which was waaaaayyyyy to easy to use. Might be my go to from now on, if I'm not feeling up to tackling a crust myself.

Making the pi pie was really easy. I just printed out a pi symbol, cut it out, and placed it in the center of my pie so I could carve around it.

And believe me, this pie was mathematically delicious!

So Happy pi day friends! Are you doing anything pi oriented?

  1. Oh that looks yummy.

You know, I've been reading about and seeing pictures of pies all day and I only just realized why...

    1. It's a neat thing to celebrate, eh? Next year apparently is the big one: 3/14/15 (with the most geeky having a moment at 9:26:53am (3.141592653.....).

The pie was super delicious! :)

  2. Do you like your pie room temperature, heated or cold?

    1. Raspberry pie I like at both room temperature and cold. Lemon/pumpkin/sweet potato/pecan/apple I like cold. How about you?

    2. I really like my apple pizza almond base thing, cold. It's so good. But as it's getting cold, I keep sneaking bites.

Room temperature is very nice as well, though I'm not sure if I like any warm. Sometimes people get their pies heated and then add ice cream - but I'm not such a fan of warm pie.

    3. Warm pie doesn't really do it for me either.

    4. We had cheesecake last night and that, I love room temperature. Most things though, including foods, I like room tempature.

  3. Love your Pi Pie! Making the fancy cut out crust looks way easier than I would have imagined. Nice work!

    1. Hey thanks! It was way easier than I thought too. Now I've been thinking about all the other things I could carve into a pie. Thanks for your comment! :)
